My Go-To Makeup Routine

Hi friends! It's been a while since I have done a beauty post so I thought I'd do a post of my current go-to makeup routine. I'm actually going to go in order of how I apply each product, not in order of the above picture. Let's get started...

1. Stila One Step Correct Primer- I love this primer because it has color-correcting benefits such as redness and dullness. I also like how it feels more like a moisturizer on my skin, rather than a layer of product sitting on my skin. I actually talked about this product in my very first blog post back in January (do you remember??).

2. Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer- I apply this primer only in my T-Zone area for extra help with my exposed pores. It works great and really adds a difference after I apply my makeup. This also works great even if you don't apply makeup after, and just want a natural look.

3. Tarteguard 20 Tinted Moisturizer- I originally discovered this product after I got a sample of it in one of my Sephora packages. I tried it, and immediately fell in love with it. It comes in 3 shades- I wear the shade "light". It blends in fairly quickly and is perfect for those days where you want something in light coverage. Plus- it has an spf of 20! If you are looking for something with more coverage, I suggest checking out Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation. This is another product that I talked about in my first blog post : ) I have this foundation and wear it if I have a photoshoot or a big event. It is amazing!

4. Tarte CC UnderEye Corrector- During my routine, I would now start to conceal my under eyes. I also have already done a post explaining my under eye situation and what products work for me (See here- But please don't judge for the horrible photography in this post! I am still learning : ) BUT- in case you missed it, I have extremely dark under eyes. As in if I don't wear under-eye makeup, people will ask me how I'm feeling and if I am sick! They are hereditary and I have been wearing under-eye concealer since middle school because of it. I'm so glad a discovered Tarte's CC Under-Eye corrector because it is a true game-changer for me. I put 1-2 layers of this before I apply my actual concealer. It might be an extra step in your makeup routine, but it is so worth it if you struggle with dark under eyes like me.

5. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer- If you didn't already know, this is the holy grail concealer of all concealers! This product is full coverage and matte and conceals even the darkest of under eye circles (Trust me-I would know!). I also use this concealer for any other imperfections like blemishes or scars. Highly recommend!

6. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder- I then top off my under eyes with this brightening powder from Laura Mercier.  This powder is only intended for your under eyes just to clarify. It really helps to lock in your concealer and works amazingly! It also lasts a really long time, even if you use it daily like I do.

7. Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder- To set my face makeup, I apply Laura Mercier's loose translucent setting powder all over my face. To apply, I use their velour puff which is actually really fun to use (is that weird??). I go back and forth whether I like a loose powder or a pressed powder (anyone else that can't make up their mind?!). But for now, I'm sticking with the loose powder.  I think I just like pressed powder because it is less of a mess in the bathroom, or on the go, you know what I mean?? But just FYI, this powder does have Talc in it, if you are against that then I suggest getting Makeup Forever's setting powder which has a formula based on cornstarch, not talc. I have also used this product and it works great.

8. Benefit Cosmetics Cheek Parade- I then move on to my cheeks- Blush, bronzer, and highlighters! This is definitely my favorite part in my makeup routine. I just think it's fun to experiment with different blushes and bronzers. This cheek palette is my all time favorite! Not only is it filled with gorgeous shades, but it also smells amazing! I definitely wasn't expecting it to smell so good haha. I also use this angled cheek brush from Sephora to apply the product. I highly recommend it!

9. Smashbox L.A. Lights Blush & Highlighter Palette- I also love this blush and highlighter palette. It has two different kinds of blushes and one highlighter. The colors are so pretty!

10. Pixi Natural Brow Duo- Love this eyebrow pencil, it makes my eyebrows look amazing! But to be honest, I do not use the tinted gel end of the duo. It makes my eyebrows feel crusty which I'm just not down for.

11. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color- I then go over my eyebrows with this pencil with light brush strokes to make my eyebrows look more natural and real.

12. CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara- Last but not least, it's time for some mascara! I honestly love to experiment with different mascaras but I always go back to CoverGirl. I don't have the best of lashes so I tend to stick with the basics and you definitely can't go wrong with this mascara! And yes, your lashes will really be clump free!

So there you have it! Hope you guys enjoyed this beauty post! Let me know if you have any questions. Side note- I'm currently really trying to get better at photography, can anyone point out any YouTube videos that are helpful or any recommendations on cameras/lenses? I would appreciate it!

Beachy Vibes at Zuma Beach

Hi, friends! Today I'm bringing you some beachy vibes straight from Malibu! If you're not a local, I'll fill you in and let you know that the beach we shot this at is called Zuma Beach and is a very popular beach spot in "tha 'bu" (Californian term for Malibu ; ).

I decided to base this outfit on my new favorite TopShop peplum top. I got this top in the nude color but it does appear to look more like a light pink/peach color in person. I even recently got this top in black and wish I had it in more colors because it is that good! I'm wearing a size 4 in it. I also paired this top with one of my favorite bralettes from Free People. I definitely think it is necessary to wear this top with a bralette, but that's me. I decided to wear this top with some jean shorts that I got from H&M. These are super comfortable and great for some Summer weather! Lastly, I wore this outfit with my favorite Summer sandals from Soludos

My Wedding Day

Hi friends! Well, the day has finally come where I share all about my wedding day! Sorry it has taken me so long, but I had almost 1,000 pictures to choose from so it definitely took longer than expected (on top of having issues with my MacBook)! Anyways...let's get moving : )

To get us started, I will say that I relied heavily on Etsy and Pinterest (how could one plan a wedding without them?!). I will also say that I did not have a strict theme for my wedding. I just wanted it to be elegant, classy, and chic. My color theme was gray, white, and gold and silver metallics. I also did not have a wedding coordinator, but did have a day-of coordinator that was through our venue.

For my bridesmaids gifts, I gave them these floral robes from Etsy along with these silver bracelets (also from Etsy).  The robe that I wore was a gift from one of my bridesmaids which was from Nordstrom and can be found here.  Makeup was done by Amanda Tomczak. I also wore lash extensions by my friend Laurel of Luna Lash and Skincare. My bridesmaid's hair was done by my friend Bri Bilson. My hair was done by one of my bridesmaids Amber Owens. She also does the coloring of my hair on a regular basis : )

For my wedding shoes, I decided I wanted to be comfortable for the entire day and night. So I wore these flat sandals from Sole Society that I continue to wear all the time.  I wore stud earrings from Nadri and since my dress had a high neckline, I did not wear a necklace.

And now for my dress : ) My dress is from Pronovias and was purchased by Pebbles Bridal.  Fun Fact- this was actually the very first dress that I tried on. I tried on a few after, but I always went back to this one : )

Chris and I did not see each other before the ceremony, but I did do a "First-Look" with my dad : ) Take a look.

For my bridesmaid's dresses, I decided to do the "mis-matched" look with different shades of grey.  Considering that two of my bridesmaids live out of state, this was pretty hard to do. But if you're willing for the challenge, then I highly recommend it. I will say that I did not see ALL of their dresses until a few hours before the ceremony started and even decided on my sister's dress the day of as well. It was pretty scary to pull off, but I am very happy with how they all turned out. Two of my bridesmaid's dresses were ordered through Vow to be Chic, where you can rent bridesmaids dresses for a discounted price. They send you two different sizes to try on a few weeks before the wedding, I highly recommend them! Additionally, two of my bridesmaids wore the same sequined dress by Adriana Papell, which tied in all five of their dresses nicely.

Now, let's get to the ceremony : )

My wedding took place at the Westlake Village Inn on Saturday, May 27th, 2017. My flowers were by Casi Cielo Events & Flowers. I wanted my flowers to be ALL white. No pinks, reds, or any other color. My wedding day programs were by this Etsy shop. The "card box" that I used is actually a glass terrarium from World Market. Also, we did not know a personal officiant for our wedding so we found one off the internet and I am not even going to tag him or link his website because he butchered our last name when he announced us at the end of the ceremony. When this happened, I laughed, but it put my husband in a bad mood because he is used to this happening but hoped it would not happen on our wedding day. So to conclude, do not get your officiant off the internet!

Now for some pictures of the family, the wedding party, and some of Chris and I : )

Now I will share some more of the details and more of the set up for the reception. The DJ we used was Jason Wesley of Bouquet Sound. He was amazing! I seriously got SO many compliments for him so I highly recommend him! (P.S.-Our "First Dance" was to "Love" by Lana Del Rey) All calligraphy and signage was done by my sister-in-law. Check out her Etsy shop here. My cake was done by my friend Katie, check her out here. She also did some cupcakes to add to the dessert table : ) I ordered my cake topper by this Etsy shop. My wedding "guest book" was by this Etsy shop. I originally got this idea by my friend Michelle's wedding. I thought it was a great switch up of the typical wedding guest book. My mother-in-law was in charge of the party favors. We decided to do a coffee theme here and do "His" and "Her" coffee beans, along with some biscotti's and chocolate covered coffee beans. For my table numbers, we started collecting different geode bookends so I could have my sis-in-law, Danielle, write on them. *Funny story*- about an hour before the ceremony started, I was told that four of the bookends disappeared and we had to use the hotel's paper numbers for those four tables. Still to this day, I have no idea where they went! This is just another reason of the fact that things will go wrong on the day of your wedding, no matter how organized you are.

We also rented the chairs for the reception room from the Exotic Green Garden. If you saw my "Rehearsal Dinner" blog post, you know that we also rented from them for some items during that event. We even reused the garland from the rehearsal dinner for the reception at the wedding. It definitely added a nice touch to the reception room!

Overall, it was a great wedding! BUT, it was especially stressful for me due to the fact that both of my parents have dementia. I had to have my sister be in charge of taking care of them on top of being my maid of honor. We definitely had to move some things around, like the hair and makeup times because my mom refused to show up early for the wedding and my sister was in charge of picking my parents up and driving them to the venue. My sister ended up leaving them at the house so she could make her hair/makeup on time and Chris actually ended up picking my parents up and taking them to the venue. Anyone else that was related to my mom also had to help out with her. We even bought alcohol-free wine and gave it to the bar tender and pointed out my mom so they would only serve her that specific kind of wine because we could not trust that she would be able to control herself. I also found out the afternoon of the wedding that my dad refused to do a speech for me because he was too nervous and wouldn't be able to handle it. Both of my half brothers didn't even show up to my wedding. I even had a childhood best friend also not show up to the wedding. Still to this day I have not heard a single word from her. Yes, I was bummed that this all happened on my wedding day but I tried my best not to let it get to me and I still had an amazing time.

I also want to say that I planned on doing a picture with Chris and I holding a "Thank You" banner so that we could use it for our thank-you notes but that didn't happen... I had a bag all ready to go labeled for Hanna, my photographer, and I completely forgot to give it to her! So I would definitely suggest telling multiple people in your circle of what your ideas are for pictures or any other details that you want accomplished because you just have no idea how busy you will be on your wedding day. And that's when things get forgotten about : / I am also not going to say who did our photo booth that we rented because I was not really happy with their professionalism. The background curtain that they used was crooked and didn't even take up the whole background on top of the fact that people were coming up to me and telling me that the person was rude to them. So therefore, they will not be mentioned : )

But my wedding was still amazing and Chris and I had an unforgettable time! We are also still waiting on our video from our videographer so I will try and share that when we get it! Our videographer was Jen Renee (click on her name to see her website). Jen and her crew were amazing and we can't wait to see the video! Photography was done by Miramar Photography. Hanna and Russell were great and our photos turned out amazing!

WELL.... there you have it! I hope I didn't forget anything! Please let me know if you guys have any questions about anything, I'm happy to answer them! And if you actually read everything till the end... YOU ROCK! Thanks so much for reading guys and I hope you have a great day!
