Chris & Bri: Our Love Story

Hi friends! Can you believe that I'm getting married in TWO days?! I know, I can't believe it either! A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I would do a blog post telling you guys the story of how Chris and I met and that I would share some of our engagement photos...so here it goes!

Chris and I met at our friend's wedding back on August 24th, 2012.  It was pretty much love at first sight on the dance floor and we have been inseparable ever since! He proposed on October 18th, 2015, after having the ring for nearly six months! I guess he was just waiting for the right moment, right? The story of how he proposed is not a typical romantic proposal.  It was just a regular day of running errands and we decided to play some golf at our local golf course.  And no, I do not play golf, but I love to try! We were about to finish up, on our last hole, and he just randomly got down on one knee and asked me. I was totally shocked and did not expect it at all! If you're wondering why we are just now getting married, it's because I really wanted a Summer wedding and everything in our area was already booked for 2016... so 2017 it is! Plus we needed some time to save our money for the big day.  Our engagement pictures were taken in November of 2015, right after we got engaged.  Unfortunately, I cut off 7 inches of my hair, one month before he proposed so that is why my hair is so short in these pictures. If I had known that he was going to propose, I definitely would not have cut my hair! Oh well... We already had a trip planned to go to Cambria that weekend with both of our parents and his mom thought of hiring a photographer to take our engagement photos while we were there.  I think they turned out great if you ask me! Take a look.

So there you have it! We are so excited to tie the knot this Saturday. I will try and update you guys as much as I can through Instagram, and of course will share all of my pictures from the Big Day! Thanks for all of the support, friends!

Tanceuticals Self Tanning Lotion Review

Hi friends! Today I want to talk about a self tanning lotion that I love and the importance of sun care. Being that I have always had pale skin, my mom would never let me leave the house without sun screen on. Of course, when I was a kid I thought it was so annoying! But now, I'm so thankful that I would always have sunscreen on my face whenever I went outside. Also, my dad always had skin cancer when I was a kid and would have to get certain skin spots removed frequently. It was painful just watching him be in so much pain from the procedures.

One of my previous jobs when I was younger was working at a tanning salon. Obviously, I had access to tanning beds free of charge. Even though I didn't use the tanning beds too often, I still used them. But I did always cover my face and wear sun screen when I did use the beds. I haven't used them since working there so that's good but just know; tanning beds ARE bad for your skin! They damage your skin in so many ways and make you suffer from premature aging! I'm talking sun spots, brown spots, and wrinkles (no fun!).

Another job that I used to have was working at a medical skin clinic that specialized in Botox, fillers, laser hair removal, and more. I can't tell you how many before and after pictures that I saw of different people's faces that have wrinkles all over their face. Or how many patients that would come in and try to reverse the sun damage they had on their skin through various procedures. Now, I have a fear of getting wrinkles and can always tell when someone goes overboard on the Botox and fillers ; ).

With that being said, I now take sun protection very seriously. This means, no more tanning beds, and no more laying out in the sun for hours in a day. So how does one get that sun kissed glow without being in the sun? Well I discovered a product that works amazing and doesn't leave your skin orange or streaky. Tanceuticals sent me their face and body sunless tanning lotion to try out and I'm so thankful that they did. But, I gotta be honest, I was really nervous to try it out because I had never tried any sunless tanning lotions before. I just always assumed that I would look orange or the simple fact that it wouldn't look good on my fair skin. I'm so glad that I tried this product out because it works so well. I got so many compliments from my friends and co-workers in how good my bronzed skin looked. Although they assumed that I laid out for days in the sun and said "Oh Bri! You got some color!" And I responded with "No, it's actually fake!"  By those comments, I knew that it looked good and I wasn't the only one that thought that.

I'm now going to tell you a little more about the product and about the application process. First of all, I was so surprised with how easy it is to apply this lotion. With a purchase of product, a mitt is included that is to be used to apply the product. However, for the face lotion, I did use my own hands because it would be a little tricky to use the mitt on your face. It's especially important to shower and exfoliate before you apply the product. Also, do not put on lotion before you apply the product.  I typically always apply at night just because it is easier for me.  Then when I wake up in the morning, I shower and put on lotion and I'm good to go! The website notes to not shave right before use and to wait 12-24 hours between a fresh shave and to apply the product. However, I did shave right before I used the product and did not have any problems with it.

I also love how this product is cruelty-free and uses natural ingredients like aloe vera, acai berry, grape seed oil, shea butter, and more.  It's an all around skin-loving beauty product and I'm completely hooked! I'm so glad I discovered it : ) Their website also offers free shipping on orders over $30 so feel free to check them out! And please, let me know if you have any questions.  Talk soon!
