Stripes & an Olive Green Cardigan

Hi friends! So I took a little break on Instagram and on the blog…maybe you noticed, maybe you didn’t. But that’s okay, I just wanted to take the time to decide on how I want to change up my feed. I’ve been thinking for a while that I just need to make some sort of change and I wanted to make sure I made the right decision before I executed the change. I know, some of you might be thinking to yourselves “It’s just Instagram, what’s the big deal?!” But to me, it is so much more than that, and I’m also thinking of it on a business perspective. With that said, I’ve purchased a new set of presets from Aspyn Ovard (Obsessed with her!) and I’m excited for the new change on my feed! I know a lot of bloggers never share how they edit their pictures or what filters they use, but I am pretty open about this so just let me know if you ever have any questions about my pictures. I also want to start doing more scenic pictures, rather than only posting outfit pictures of myself. There is nothing wrong with that, I just prefer to show more sides of me instead only pictures of me in different outfits. This might entail pictures of a latte I ordered, or a beach shot…pretty much anything that inspires me.  I’ve also started to really hold back on purchasing new clothes from my favorite retailers and instead, have started to purchase more used clothing and shoes (like on eBay and Poshmark). It’s been hard, but I’m happy with the change and like how I’m not spending as much money as I normally do. Have you ever made a change like this? Let me know in the comments below! Okay moving on to the outfit details…

I wanted to bring you guys this look that is one of my favorites. It’s simple, casual, and perfect for weekend errands. This green cardigan is so soft and has that stretchy (not too thin) material which makes it even more comfortable. It also has pockets, which is always a plus for me. The striped, long sleeve top that I am wearing is from Nordstrom and is also super comfortable. I’m wearing an XS in it, but could have even gone to a smaller size because it does run big. The jeans that I’m wearing here are one of my favorite pair of high waisted jeans. However, I did get them about a year ago so they are no longer available, but I will link a few similar pairs. For a size reference, I normally wear a size 26 in jeans (also keep in mind that I am 5’4). I’ve been on a slip-on sneaker kick lately and I recently added this pair of Vans to my collection. They are definitely the kind of pair that go with everything. As of right now, they are sold out but the color option is called “Silver Lining/Blanc de Blanc”. I also wear a size 6 in shoes.

On a different note, I also wanted to fill you guys in on a life update I have… For a while now, I have been pondering heavily on what I want to do with my life. Yes, it would be fun/amazing to have a successful blog that I could live off of, but unfortunately, that is just not realistic for me (maybe one day : )). If you didn’t already know, I have a part-time job where I work with kids in an after school program within the local school district that I live in. I primarily work with Kindergartners and first graders, but will work with k’s through fifth graders during winter/spring/summer breaks. I love my job, but obviously can’t make a living off of it. I also don’t want to leave to child setting for say, a corporate job at a desk…That is just not me. I am definitely a passion person, meaning I can’t just find any job, I have to be passionate about it. With heavy thinking and multiple people always telling me that I would be a great teacher, I have decided to go back to school to get my Master’s and teaching credentials to become an elementary school teacher (yay!). I kind of always had a feeling that I would eventually become a teacher, but I always put it on the back burner and always said no whenever someone would bring it up (especially my mom). I think I was mostly scared of the parents I would have to encounter while being a teacher. But I realized that there will always be at least one aspect of any job that someone doesn’t like, and that you just have to deal with it. I’m excited and scared for this journey ahead of me, but I feel like it is the right path for me. I will leave it at that because this has turned into a really long blog post! If you’ve read all of this til the end, THANK YOU! & leave me a comment to let me know ; )

Until next time! xoxo
